Champion Fire Department in Vulcan County, AB recently took delivery of their new MAXIMETAL Wildland / Urban Interface Pumper.
The aluminum body is mounted on a Freightliner M2 106 4 x 4 Crew Cab & Chassis with a Cummins ISL 350HP engine and Allison 3000 EVS transmission. The apparatus features a 1000 US gallon water tank and a 30 US gallon foam tank with a Hale RSD 1500 pump and CAF system in a side control narrow pumphouse configuration. This truck is pump and roll capable and outfitted with a remote controlled front bumper turret and in step booster reel. Ladders and hard suction hoses are mounted on a Zico overhead hydraulic rack and the hosebed is accessed using a folding Zico ladder. This apparatus features a full LED emergency warning and scene light package. All compartments are fitted with a variety of shelves, sliding trays, tool boards plus additional SCBA bottle storage in the fenders.
